Designed as an advisory panel and to give the IBG members a voice, we have formed an IBG forum consisting of five existing IBG members. Meeting on a quarterly basis and in regular contact, the Forum panel offer an invaluable insight into the minds of independent booksellers.

It’s essential that independents lead the way in style & service so that they stay relevant in a segmented and competitive market. The IBG can support independents so that they can develop their businesses and remain competitive.
The independent bookshop is the best place for writers to meet their readers and I think the IBG should nurture and develop a special relationship between the two.
The potential synergy created by the IBG will enable us 'indies' to tap into a niche market as yet unexploited with every IBG member having the opportunity to have a say in the direction we go and in the books that we promote.
The instigation of the IBG is another example of Bertrams' commitment to this fiercely individual group and we trust that it will be rewarding for all members involved.
Having managed David’s for 15 years previously, my wife and I took over ownership in July 2009. I'm hoping the IBG will help us all sell more books - frontlist & backlist.
